The Sand Snipe
Her job is to dredge sand from the bottom of the Camel estuary making it easier for boats to pass through the river. The sand is then loaded onto lorries via a crane on the Padstow docks. Most of the sand is then spread onto fields as fertiliser for it’s very rich in lime.
